Richard Kretz: Mostly what I'm interested in is getting good photos.... I use a digital SLR w/a 150-600 zoom and 25x50 binoculars.... scope and tripod are too cumbersome when on the go and I like to "get and git" as they say.... if I can get within 75 feet of a song bird or 300 feet of a larger bird (as long as I can see its eye through my lens) and the sun is bright and behind me or to the side, I can usually get a pretty good pic... I'm not a pro photographer by any stretch of the imagination... just enjoy taking pics and communing with nature.... figure learning to take good bird pics is the best way to learn photography and have fun too.... Have attached a few pics that you might enjoy...

Lyndon G. - Singapore,   I have to thank you so much..the bird watching and photography was one of the highlights of our trip to Florida. My wife had a good time and can now identify the birds of Central Florida that we saw.

From being a non-birder, she now wants to birds watch at home so that she can identify birds of South East Asia too!

All my pictures were taken using a Nikon D70 and 2 main lenses - Nikkor 400mm, f5.6, Nikkor 80-200, f 2.8, ED.

You could say that I have been bird watching since 1989 and started taking photographs of birds since 1990. Over the years, I have had opportunity to watch birds and wildlife and take pictures in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, India, Middle East, Zambia and Botswana.

Thanks again for the great experience.
