"We found a hurt baby bird on our front stairs, where can we take it so that it will not die? Please help!"
Christina:
The best thing to do is look in your local telephone book or try searching Google.com, for something like wild animal rescue or wild animal hospital, or bird rescue.
Because your email does not indicate where you live in the country I apologize but I can not be more specific than that.
For a Google.com search try this:
your state wild animal hospital
example: Florida wild animal hospital
If you live in Central Florida try "The Florida Wildlife Hospital", Melbourne, FL.
Open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 7 Days a Week.
After hours, leave wildlife patients in the cage at the west end of the parking lot and fill out the form provided. Please call and leave a voice mail message to alert us of your delivery.
Phone: 321.254.8843
Address:
Florida Wildlife Hospital
4560 North U.S. Highway 1
Melbourne, FL 32935
You could also call your local Audubon Society for the name of a bird rescue person.
To find the chapter in your state use the following web address: www.audubon.org/local/sanctuary/index.html
Thanks for visiting our the Central Florida Bird Watchers website.
Regard,
