Congratulations! Indeed you have probably seen a Bald Eagle. They are usually back in Florida from the middle to late August, and will then spend the winter. During February they mate and raise their new families. Late spring they migrate back north. We have already seen a Bald Eagle at the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge.
What we try to do when we seen them is to match their white head and black body with white tail feathers. When you see this combination, you can be very sure that you have identified a Bald Eagle.
