The Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area: Prairie Lakes Unit - Near Kenansville, FL.
- The Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area encompasses over 8,000 acres of dry prairie, wet prairie,
marsh and pine flatwoods.
- This varied habitat is home to the largest concentration of Bald Eagle nesting in the contiguous United States.
- This is also a great location to see the elusive Red-headed Woodpecker, the Brown-headed Nuthatch, the Crested Caracara and Red-cockaded Woodpecker.
Best viewing times are very early in the morning or late afternoon.
DIRECTIONS:
- Take State Road (SR) 523 (Canoe Creek Road) northwest, nine miles from Kenansville, FL.
- The entrance is on the left (west). Look for the Prairie Lakes Unit sign.
- There is a small day use fee.
- From St. Cloud, FL., the park is approximately 24 miles south of St. Cloud, on SR 523,

in St. Cloud becomes Canoe Creek Road - SR 523)
